<description><![CDATA[<p>Sir Neil Cossons, former chairman of English Heritage is an expert in  industrial heritage.</p>
<p>His talk on conservation and preservation  of industrial heritage worldwide was presented as the 2010 Heritage  Address, in collaboration with Museum Victoria.</p>

<li>Conservation  needs to look beyond preserving individual buildings and think of  industrial heritage in more extended social terms.:</li>
<li>Conservation  in central business districts, where the pressure for development was  strongest.</li>

<li>The crucial development of travel  and modern production processes</li>
<li>Industrial heritage as  monuments of the modern world - cotton mills, gasworks, train stations,  factories, ships and shipping infrastructure, bridges</li>
